I won’t be alone, though – I’ll be joined by Colin ConwayAsa Maria Bradley, and Scott Eubanks. Now, constant readers will know the connections I have to Colin (hint: the Charlie-316 series), but what’s the reason for all four of us being together?

A Grifter’s Song.

The novella anthology series that I created and edit is the focus of this event. What’s it about?

Well… the series features a pair of grifters, Sam and Rachel, who are lifelong grifters in their late thirties. Their past is as shadowy as their present, but we know that they pulled a major long con on the mafia in Philadelphia, and now they are on the run. While one or the other may speak longingly of that quiet life in a beach house somewhere at the end of the rainbow, we all know that the likelihood is that they will never leave this life, unless it is in a box. They are who they are, and so they continue to find and exploit marks, trying to stay one step ahead of the mobsters bent on vengeance.

Each episode is a standalone story but is also part of the meta tale that evolves over the separate novellas. Each episode is penned by a different author in a different setting. So far, there have been two seasons (twelve episodes) and the third season is in production.

All four print volumes of the completed series episodes will be available to order from the host bookstore (Auntie’s).

I wrote the series premiere, The Concrete Smile. Colin wrote episode five, Lost in Middle America. Asa wrote episode eight, Upgrade. Scott wrote episode eleven, Still Life with Suitcase. Lastly, I wrote the season two finale, Down Comes the Night.

We’ll be talking about what it is like to work on this series together, and taking questions from the crowd – so bring yours!
